| After setting desired time for alarm in Alarm Service Setting, and ticking all the squares in the setup and submitted. But the alarm does not work and checking on Device Status shows Alarm Status = None. Device firmware version 17.22.2.36, Device Embedded Web UI Version 20.8.1.81, UPnP Status - UPnP Succeed. The camera is working well.
Also unable to setup Gmail service setting. The Test always return "Failed". SMTP Server - Smtp.googlemail.com Smtp port - 465 Transport Layer Security Protocol - TLS
Appreciate any help.

| Hi, I notice that motion alarm detection will only trigger when APM-J011-WS IPcam is online with Live Video running, it will also record and saves the video to preset folder (Path Settings). If I select other option (other than Live Video), motion alarm will not work until I change back to Live Video, but then it will only record the current video captures on the Live Video. The alarm also won't trigger if ipcam is not online even the power of the cam is on. The site for Gmail setting (https://apexis.longluntan.com/t25p15-apexis-apm-j011-ws-discussion) does not offer much help as the Smtp server, port and security setting already stated in Mail Server Settings, and I am still unable to setup gmail setting. Could it be my APM-J011-WS is malfunctioning? But the live video is running OK. Any suggestion? Taych | |

- Taych,
For the Alarm Status, it only will show result once alarm triggerred.
For gmail settings, check my topic as below: https://apexis.longluntan.com/t25p15-apexis-apm-j011-ws-discussion
There are some snapshots for gmail settings.
Hope it helps you. Dear sir,
This is Technical Support from Apexis,i'm glad to help you.
Before Gmail settings , U need to do:
Set Port Forwarding in the router.
This is the most important step. Set port forwarding in router refer to the IP of your camera correctly, then the DDNS and mail alarm will work.
NOTE: Private network(LAN) interconnection with the outside do not, and therefore may use random IP addresses(private address). Routers on internet only transmits data to facilities which have public IP address. So,pls MAKE SURE the WAN IP of the router(which connect to your camera) is not a Private IP address Here are the three common private IP address • 10.0.0.0 ~10.255.255.255 • 172.16.0.0~172.31.255.255 • 192.168.0.0~192.168.255.255

| Dear Mr Tech_Apexis,
Thanks for the reply. For your information, I am actually having Wan IP address (14.192.246.xxx), and also DDNS (e0193.aipcam.com:xx port and apexis.dyndns-free.com:xx port), and also able to ping my Wan IP address. I can view my camera remotely on internet.
I just don't understand why the mail setting is not working. Sender/Rceiver : my email address SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com SMTP Port: 465 (TLS) or 25 (STARTTLS) - Need Authentication User ID / Password : xxxxxx
When I press TEST, the result always FAILED.
The other problems is alarm will only triggered when my camera is online and on Live Video mode, even with proper Alarm Service Setting (including of selection of Schedule time). If I select another option on the page (Network, Audio Video, System or Others), alarm will not trigger.
I actually got another ip camera (EZcam-EZ59PT) of similiar model, and I have no problems setting up alarm and emal. Whenever alarm is triggered, it will email to me with the snap shot of the "intruder".
Appreciate if you can assist on this. Thank you.

| If all of your settings are correct, then, I guess your camera is an old version one, check the firmware of it , whether start from 17.22.*.*. As i know, the old version camera without a security-dog on the mainboard, so it won't support gmail/hotmail etc. Check it and show us. | |

| Hi,
I have the Firmware Version 17.22.2.36 and Embedded Web UI Version 20.8.1.81 which I updated recently, or unless there is a newer version.
Any solution on the triggering alarm only on Live Video mode. Are there any complaints from other users or I am just the only one with this issue.

| I guess the hardware of your camera is an old one, even you updated the firmware and WEB UI, it won't solve the problem, coz there is no security IC on the mainboard, this is the feature for old one.

| The only way just to open the camera, check whether there is a security IC on it?
It's difficult to distinguish it by software.

| I have discovered a free software " Vitamin D Video" that is capable of emailing and recording motion detection. After setup you can turn off the software and it still can email the snapshot of "intruder" and record the video to your harddisk. The only set-back is your pc must be switched on. My other ipcams (not Apexis) can email to me on motion detection snapshots 24/7 even my pc is turned off. It is very easy to do the set-up but the free version only allows one camera. To check it out, log on to : http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/27/windows/security/vitamin-d-monitor-your-home-or-office-using-webcam-free.html | |

| If only for snapshot, no need keeping the pc on, it will take snapshot and email alert once motion detected. | |

| Sorry, mine does not work if I turn-off my pc. Unless the pc is on, motion detection is not working, so no email or video recording. Probably like you mentioned before, my Apexis model J011 is the old model with no "security IC". How sad | |
