APEXIS APM-J011-WS is a normal model, as I checked, it came to the market from 2009, became popular on 2010, so, during these time, many users talked about the color problem. Especially for green color, it will become a little grey if under sunlight exposure. This is because the camera use IR Lens, this lens will cause color change under certain enviroument.

From 2011, the technology of IR-CUT became mature, it used for APM-J011-WS and APM-J0233-WS-IR firstly, we say APM-J011-WS-IRC and APM-J0233-WS-IRC. With IR-CUT filter, the color looks more like original, this is a big advance, it looks we back to to nature again!

Most of the APEXIS IP cameras use 6mm lens. Foscam FI8908W use 3.6mm lens.

APEXIS said they can provide these lens for customers optional:
3.6mm : Wide angle, short distance
4.5mm: Middle angle, middle distance
6.0mm: Narrow angle, long distance.
Even 2.8mm for APM-J012-WS, 9mm or 12mm for outdoor model, like APM-J602-WS-IR.

I’m not sure the exact value of the angle, like 90 degree or 75 degree or 60 degree, something like that.

Some snapshots maybe for better understand. But I don’t have pictures right now, if somebody one day see my message, show us the truth!

For myself, i like optional, both 3.6mm and 6mm, because if i want to details more clearly, i can use 6mm, if want see a little wide angle, i can use 3.6mm.

3.6mm lens can't see long distance so clearly as 6mm lens.

Relay for the IO Linkage.

I just collect all the data in my hand, when i see something, then i poste it here, so maybe this topic is not so logical.

Here the layout of the IO ports

For APEXIS APM-J011-WS, It supports IO Alarm Linkage, this is for traditional alarm input and output, the IO pins just work as switch, there is no voltage or current (From their usermanual). But in my opinion, it can use for alarm system, for example, as we know, port 1&2 for output, port 3&4 for input, we can use port 1&2 to connect signal output device, like transmitting terminal, port 3&4 to connect signal input device, like receiving terminal. I know in Europe and America, there are some alarm systems based on IP, they also need add IP Camera to work together to make the system perfectly, at the same time, they need the IP Camera provider to open their port and source, do some changes, then compatible with each other.
Like we say OnVIF ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ONVIF ) right now, it’s also just better for IP industry development

This is a test result for IO linkage, the alarm last less for 1 minute,

and set the triger level as Low, the input is open less than 1 minute

if the input is open more than 1 min, the result will be as below

Yeap, APM-H804-WS looks like APM-J011-WS, the same top, but different bottom.

APM-H804-WS has some new features:

H.264 video compression
Support TF card storage
3.6mm lens
Support IR-CUT

And it's also support IE6.0/7.0/8.0/Firefox/Safari/Google chrome or other standard browsers, this is very important.
